5 Reviews

These reviews are subject to my opinion, and all of the following books are really good. I would suggest that the last two books are more written for girls. I hope that you find at least one of the books on this entire site to peak your interest. If you need a larger list look at the post labeled "Bookd I remember reading from Jan. to now" That is the longest list I have so far.

**One more note. As it is this post is without my input because I finished these books weeks ago, and I hadn't written down any thoughts I had about them. I apologize for the inconvienience of not knowing why I rated them the way I did**

Black Heart
by Holly Black

Summary:

Love is dangerous and trust is priceless in the satisfying conclusion to Holly Black’s “powerful, edgy dark” fantasy series (Publishers Weekly).

Cassel Sharpe knows he’s been used as an assassin, but he’s trying to put all that behind him. He’s trying to be good, even though he grew up in a family of con artists and cheating comes as easily as breathing to him. He’s trying to do the right thing, even though the girl he loves is the one he should stay the farthest away from. And he’s trying to convince himself that working for the Feds is smart, even though he’s been raised to believe the government is the enemy. But with a mother on the lam, the girl he loves about to take her place in the Mob, and new secrets coming to light, the line between what’s right and what’s wrong becomes increasingly blurred. When the Feds ask Cassel to do the one thing he said he would never do again, he needs to sort out what’s a con and what’s truth. In a dangerous game and with his life on the line, Cassel may have to make his biggest gamble yet—this time on love.

Enclave
by Ann Aguirre

Summary:

New York City has been decimated by war and plague, and most of civilization has migrated to underground enclaves, where life expectancy is no more than the early 20's. When Deuce turns 15, she takes on her role as a Huntress, and is paired with Fade, a teenage Hunter who lived Topside as a young boy. When she and Fade discover that the neighboring enclave has been decimated by the tunnel monsters--or Freaks--who seem to be growing more organized, the elders refuse to listen to warnings. And when Deuce and Fade are exiled from the enclave, the girl born in darkness must survive in daylight--guided by Fade's long-ago memories--in the ruins of a city whose population has dwindled to a few dangerous gangs.

Ann Aguirre's thrilling young adult novel is the story of two young people in an apocalyptic world--facing dangers, and feelings, unlike any they've ever known.

  1. If the books are in a series I post the order the series is in below the summary or my thoughts. That way you can read the first book first, even if I didn't.
