Hey, I realized today, that I haven't visited my blog in months... >.> I think that since its a three-day weekend, I could type up the things that have gone on in my life since school started, because that is really when I dropped into the pit of despair that is the cave of my home where I do homework, and sports, and have little to no extra time. Where the extra time I have I spend doing nothing. So, here goes, month by month run down since September.
SEPTEMBER:
Schools just started and waking up at 4:30am every morning to go to sleep at 9 each night is a little weird, sometimes its hard to get homework done by then, but I have to go to bed then to get 7 1/2 hours of sleep, which turns to 7 on some nights to get it all done. Swim season has yet to start and I am so excited!!
OCTOBER:
Last Frenzy meet I swim attached before the High School season starts! It was fun, only I didn't realize that I wouldn't be swimming specialized events for a while. This month started the season swimmers come to know as "Tear-down". This is where your muscles are used to (well, used to doing the same-ish things) and coach changes it up a bit, every single day. This means as well, that the workouts are more and more intense and will continuously get harder for a while. I got a weird fungus on my feet, called Pitted Keryltois (or something) only we didn't know what it was at first, so I wasn't allowed to run every morning when we would run. First presidents test was this month for APUSH. The Mock exam was good too, I was able to make up the questions which was nice.
NOVEMBER:
STARTS THE HS SEASON!!! We started the season with our first meet down in St. George. The next meet was two weeks away at home. November was by far the good kick-off month, but the next few would be a test of time management. Tear-down was getting more difficult and we kept working out hard, taper would only come before Region and State.
DECEMBER:
Meet in Cedar City---creepy experience; Courtney, Markell and I went on the bus the Friday night to get Costa Vida for dinner, the others on the bus wanted Panda. we crossed the street when a truck pulled up beside us, inside was full of boys and they asked us if we wanted a ride even though their car was full. We ran for Costa Vida, got our food, and went to Panda to eat, just in case the boys came back. We told Coach Meyring and he told us that we chose the right thing, and if someone needed to beat those boys up he and the boys in the restaurant would gladly do it, we are more than a team, we are a family.
We had a meet every weekend, and through Xmas break, only school stopped, swim was still going, we had three meets over the break. The one leading into the break was out in Tooele, and that was where I swam the 200 IM for the first time this season. I got a 2:48.8 or some time a few tenths near that. I woke up late on the second day of the meet, and my dad, wonderful as he is drove me out to the pool in Tooele and we beat the bus.
JANUARY:
One or Two meets every week, some were home meets some were away, APUSH pres. test #2 and Mock Exam #2 in full force, I wasn't able to make up the Q's this time due to needing to make up work missed in other classes. It became a very stressful month with all the homework and time I reserved for sleep...
FEBRUARY:
The 8th was REGIONS. BOYS TOOK FIRST!!! LEHI WON!!! WOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy, and we all jumped into the pool in celebration. It was one of the best feelings ever. Over all Lehi won as well, with a 3 point lead. It was so much fun and everyone worked so hard to get there.
The 14 + 15, this is where we are now. Yesterday was Day 1 of STATE. I missed school to go watch the state swimmers swim, because I didn't make it. Next Year I will make it. I will try my hardest. I really want to go :) As of yesterday the boys were up by 10.5 points, with Herriman in second. If Brighton wins it will be 20 years in a row that they've won. Its our goal to beat them. Today is Day 2 and due to a school project I am filming today, I am unable to go... but I got my Meet Mobile App to track my teams progress.
So, yeah, that's what y life has been like since school started: eat, sleep, eat, swim, eat, school. swim, eat, repeat. I have turned into a hobbit over the season, eating three breakfasts, two lunches and two snacks before eating dinner. Although in my defense, I do workout in the pool, for four hours a day, and sometimes an hour of that is dryland. If anything with food, getting in as good of shape as I am in now makes me crave healthier foods most of the time, like apples, and oranges.
Now that the season is going to be over, I am going to be back to doing all of my homework, and trying to understand some of it. My goal this year school wise is to pass the APExam, which is no easy feat. I hope that I will be prepared.
Oh, and like last year, I will probably just make a list of all the books I read this school year, and go back to writing reviews in the summer.
I am going to do club swim as well this summer like I usually do. I plan on pushing myself to the breaking point and beyond, to get the times that will get me to state this summer.
I am looking foreward to the long weekend this weekend, and am looking foreward to Grandpa Kip and Uncle Brian coming out to ski next weekend!!
