Insatiable By: Meg Cabot

Overview:
"Sick of hearing about vampires? So is Meena Harper.
Meena Harper is familiar with the supernatural. After all, she knows how you're going to die (Not that you're going to believe her. No one ever does.)
But not even Meena's precognition can't prepare her for Lucien Antonescu—who she meets and then makes the mistake of falling in love with—a modern-day prince with a bit of a dark side for which an ancient society of vampire hunters would prefer to see him dead.
The problem is Lucien's already dead. Maybe that's why he's the first guy Meena's ever met with whom she could imagine herself having a future. See, while Meena's always been able to see everyone else's destiny, she's never been able look into her own. Lucien seems to be everything Meena has ever dreamed of in a boyfriend, though he might turn out to be more of a nightmare.
So now would be a good time for Meena to start learning to predict her own future . . . if she has one."

My Thoughts:
Okay. I admit, upon reading the Overview I was very skeptical about this book. I thought it may be another Twilight-like book, or just a horrible re-imagination of vampires. The first pages were a little confusing, but my opinion was drastically changed as i got deeper and deeper into this book.
I will try not to spoil it... I liked how Lucien was portrayed in the beginning, his character made me keep guessing over and over throughout the book on his actions, and what he was doing. I enjoyed following him on his narrations, because it seemed as though he was one of the more mysterious characters. Its fun how he is the prince, and is being hunted. I enjoyed that the author was more creative with them than just going with the stereotypical vampire: a bite on the neck, and 'pow!' turn vampire.
The Vampire Hunter Organization was one of my favorite inserts into this story. I enjoyed reading from the perspective of one, and going through some of his plans step by step, to see how the author imagined this would work. I appreciated that the author kept to the original ways to kill the vamps; the stake, the holy water, and decapitation. I liked how the Hunters were set up, and how they were like some of the federal agents we have.
Meena. I loved her character, and I can't fathom with how she was thought up. She was the one who I tended to know, or predict what she would do when a situastion arrived.
This book is fast paced, full of action. I suggest it mainly to girls 14+ in age, because of some of its more intimate content. If you are a boy, I would suggest not to read this book at all. This screamed girl at me more than boy.
Ifyou are interested in reading this book Go right ahead. I loved it, and savored every second of it.
4 of 5 stars.
